KARGE T-type singlecut VIP001
This guitar stemmed from the very first direct collaboration of us at VIP with luthier extraordinaire Randy at Karge Guitars.
 
Completely handmade (no CNC-cut bodies or premade body/neck as used by most other boutique builders) - Randy cuts and shapes everything by hand, drawing from his decade long experience as a master woodworker.
 
This particular Karge VIP001 T-style singlecut was built using hand-selected, super resonant Swamp Ash for the body, and a stunner of a curly maple neck. The neck itself was carved to exactly match the profile of our own early 50s Fender Blackguard. It sounds and plays
like the best vintage Telecasters®, fueled by a VIP wiring harness using matched 280k VIPots, NOS vintage cap, and a set of our handwound VIP TELEX pickups.
 
  • hand selected swamp ash body, blonde nitro finish with minimal aging, vintage early 50s waterslide decal on front
  • curly/flame maple neck, 25.5" scale, 9.5" radius, the soft V neck profile is a 1:1 copy of the neck profile on our own early 50s Blackguard, 21 StewMac 148C frets
  • high end hardware (factory relic Gotoh In-Tune bridge, factory relic Gotoh SDS510 vintage tuners, factory relic control plate and knobs)
  • high end electronics (handwound VIP TELEX pickups, matched 280k VIPots with a vintage  cap)
  • aged red tortoise 3-ply pickguard
  • 3.6 kg or 8 lbs
  • comes in a teardrop case


Like with all guitars, you may have to adjust the setup to your liking. As of now, it is set up with D'Addario 10s and plays effortlessly with low action.

    We offer a 24 hr approval period on this guitar. The customer pays all shipping and insurance costs both ways. Before returning any item, customers must start a return request. Returned items must be in the same condition as when they left the store. Unauthorized returns will be refused and returned at the customer’s expense. Returned items are subject to a 10% restocking fee.
