I'm very much on the fence on selling this one, as it is one of the best sounding vintage Juniors I've ever owned (and I've had my share of them).

This one was made in the "golden year" for Juniors - 1956. At that time, the pickup had been moved a bit forward compared to Juniors from 1955 to avoid breaks between the lower bridge post and the cavity, the pickups were the best iteration of a vintage P90 - more dynamic, less output than later 50s P90s.

I got this one in a completely unbroken (no neck break or any other issues) and mostly complete, but badly refinished state and decided to ship it to my friend and guitar repairman to the stars, Eric Daw for a refin. While originally sunburst (the original yellow paint is still visible in the pickup cavity), we decided to go for aged black. The refin is so good, it even fooled a few local vintage snobs. I added some pictures from during the refinishing process.

At one point in its life, this guitar had been completely painted white - the nut, the fretboard, the pickguard, jackplate, etc. I ordered a new tortoise pickguard from Dan at Mojoaxe. The original pickguard (white paint removed, shown in one of the pictures) is in the case, same for the jack plate (replaced with a Mojoaxe replica, original in case) and truss rod cover, which I replaced with an original truss rod cover from 1957. The wraparound bridge is a compensated Mojoaxe bridge. At one point, other tuners had been installed, but the original tuners (with new buttons, as the original ones had crumbled) are back on the guitar. The studs, pots, pickup, knobs, strap buttons, screws, and nut are all original.

The original frets are the smaller frets commonly found on Gibson guitars pre-1959 and in great condition with plenty of life in them.

It comes in a modern TKL Junior case. The strap shown in some of the pictures is not included.
